BANDUNG (August 5, 2020) - Bureaucratic reform has an important influence in creating an Integrity Zone (ZI) towards a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean/Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM) within the government. The figure of an agent of change is needed to build ZI and create clean governance, optimal public services, accountable capacity and bureaucracy, as well as the professionalism of the Apparatus HR.

Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara said, as government officials, all parties within the Ministry of Social Affairs are increasingly busy and work longer hours.

“There is definitely more hope, more transparency, even if it is done quickly. I say strengthen the agents of change. Our success in the workplace," he said, in a workshop on strengthening change agents with the theme "Through Strengthening Change Agents, Create Adaptive Superior Human Resources".

Furthermore, the Minister of Social Affairs advised that Ministry of Social employees not only carry out routines, but also must have innovations. According to him, to make changes does require a process.

"A changing brings discomfort at first. Just start from the small things. We have to look for innovative programs. Because change is eternal and will happen,” said Juliari.

Agents of Change in the Ministry of Social Affairs continued to increase, previously in 2019, there were 265 people, now there are 291 people spread over 81 Work Units at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

A total of 120 agents attended face-to-face while still paying attention to health protocols, the rest followed virtually.

ASN agents of change at the Ministry of Social Affairs, are required to be able to change the system and governance for the better, namely being present in the community, presenting government innovations that are closer to the community, and also being able to socialize programs and consistently provide benefits to the public.

Through this workshop, it is hoped that there will be an action plan prepared by the Change Agent that can accelerate the implementation of changes in the unit environment to the agency level with a clearly measurable level of success.

The workshop on strengthening agents of change was held for four days from August 4-7, 2020 which was opened directly by the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara.

Present as resource persons were the Secretary General and Inspector General of the Ministry of Social Affairs as well as from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN).
