ATENSI Support for Grandpa Nemi in Sukabumi
SUKABUMI (October 7, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation
Center “Phala Martha” in Sukabumi provided ATENSI support to Grandpa Nemi (69
years old), a neglected elderly and living alone, a resident of Warnasari
Village, Sukabumi District, Sukabumi Regency.
This is a
follow-up to the results of a comprehensive assessment conducted by Social
Workers on the information submitted by the Social Service of Sukabumi Regency
about the existence of these neglected elderly.
Grandpa Nemi
lives alone, living in a narrow house measuring 3 x 3 meters, which he uses as
a bedroom, without a kitchen and toilet. The house he lives in is the result of
the Uninhabitable House Program (RUTILAHU), which is managed by TKSK and the
local village
Phala Martha
Center synergizes with the Sukabumi District Social Service to provide community-based
Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) services with the consideration that
Grandpa Nemi is cared for by social volunteers coordinated by the Head of RT 07
RW. 07 Cisarua Girang Village and Social Welfare District Worker of Sukabumi. A
teenager becomes a social volunteer, who with his conscience so sincerely
has taken care of Grandpa Nemi.
The ATENSI
service provided to Grandpa Nemi is in the form of support for the fulfillment
of a decent life, which consists of rice, eggs, biscuits, bread, milk,
vitamins, medicines, adult diapers, gloves, blankets, clothes, and
disinfectant.
The handover
of ATENSI service was carried out by the Head of Phala Martha, Cup Santo, and
Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of the Sukabumi Regency Social Service,
Amanudin to the Chair of RT.07 and social volunteers witnessed by the District
Secretary, Head of Sub-Division of Administration of the Karawang Health
Center, Village Secretary, Head of Social and Cultural Section of Warnasari
Village and neighbors around Grandpa Nemi's house.
"Representing
the Ministry of Social Affairs, we thank the social volunteers who since early
August 2021 have been caring for and serving the needs of life, health,
personal hygiene, and Grandpa Nemi's home environment," said Cup Santo. We
are here to give the stimulant assistance and hopefully, it can be useful, he
added.
The District
Secretary representing the Village and Sub-District Governments also expressed
his gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Social Service for providing
services in the form of providing assistance for daily living needs to Grandpa
Nemi which is certainly very useful for caring for and serving Grandpa Nemi at
home.
