“Bahagia” Center Medan Quick Response to Cases of Poor Families in Sidorejo
MEDAN (August 22, 2021) - Starting from
information circulating on Rahmawati Wati's Youtube channel regarding a
complaint from a resident in Sidorejo Village, Medan Tembung District, Medan
City. The Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia immediately
instructed the nearest office to conduct an assessment of the person concerned.
The Quick Response Team
(TRC) of Training Center “Bahagia” Medan consisting of the Head of Center,
Social Counselors and Nurses immediately went to the field by directly visiting
the residence on behalf of Zulkifli Pane (ZPN) at 20.00 WIB on Sunday, August
22, 2021.
ZPN is 49 years old and
lives with 2 (two) children on Jalan Perjuangan Gang Church, Sidorejo Village,
Medan Tembung District, Medan City. ZPN does not live permanently in Medan
City, and currently lives in one of the rented rooms measuring 3 x 3 meters
with inadequate conditions.
ZPN looks healthy but the
body looks thin with poor condition. His right leg had joint problems due to an
accident at a young age. However, ZPN looks still running and productive for work.
Every day, ZPN works odd
jobs with non-permanent income. Usually selling magnetic bracelets or being a
construction worker. The first child is married, the second child is 16 years
old and the third child is 11 years old. The second and third children have
dropped out of school for a long time ago due to economic conditions and unstable
living.
While visiting the social
instructor at Bahagia Center Medan, Tama asked ZPN about the wife in question
because at the time of the visit she did not find ZPN's wife. "I have been
divorced since 2018. Since then my two children have lived with me," said
ZPN.
As is known, ZPN has a
wife who has lived in Malaysia since 2014. Usually, sending living expenses is
around Rp. 200 thousand per month. However, after being divorced three years
ago and the wife has remarried, ZPN and their children have not received any
messages from his wife again.
Based on the results of
the interview, it was known that the ZPN family in Tanjung Tiram District, Batu
Bara Regency was a poor family, so he did not expect any help from relatives or
could live with his relatives.
