MEDAN (July 27, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Training Center Bahagia in Medan is running a public kitchen program in the form of giving boiled eggs and boxed rice which are distributed to health workers handling COVID-19, COVID-19 funeral officers, joint enforcement officers of Public Activities Restrictions (PPKM) at a number of points in the city of Medan. Working together with Human Resources (HR) at Training Center Bahagia in Medan, this kitchen program is a form of appreciation from the Ministry of Social Affairs to all parties who have been at the forefront of handling COVID-19 in Indonesia.

 

On the first day of distribution of public kitchen products on July 26, 2021, 1,475 boiled eggs were distributed to the Methodist Suzanna Wesley Hospital 356 points, Murni Teguh Hospital 274 points, Royal Prima Hospital 700 items, and 145 items were handed over to Bina Kasih Medan Hospital.

 

"According to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, the priority of this public kitchen is given to health workers, especially those who handle COVID-19," said Lyana as the Head of the Center while monitoring the activities at the public kitchen post.

 

On the second day of July 27, 2021, 500 eggs and 560 boxes of rice were distributed to the Methodist Suzanna Wesley Hospital 89 rice boxes, Padang Bulan Health Center 52 rice boxes, PPKM officers 106 rice boxes, Sidorejo Hilir Sub Public Health Center   (Puskesmas) 13 rice boxes, GL Tobing Hospital 15 boxed rice and 156 eggs, Citra Medika Hospital 40 eggs, Mitra Medika Hospital 200 eggs, UPT Puskesmas Medan Deli 104 eggs, and to the special funeral officers for COVID-19 TPU Simalingkar as many as 40 rice boxes.

 

On the second day of the public kitchen 'Bahagia" Medan Center reached out to PPKM officers, which is a joint unit of the police, transportation service, and Medan city health office. Several PPKM points around Medan City that were reached include the Adam Malik Roundabout, SIB Roundabout, Plaza Palladium, Merdeka Square, Cambridge Plaza, and Medan Train Station Intersection. Don't forget to give boxed rice to funeral workers who were prepared for COVID-19 patients who died. To all funeral officers at Simalingkar TPU, 40 rice boxes were given.

 

The public kitchen at Bahagia Medan Center is still ongoing as of the time this news was published. With the main target being the COVID-19 Handling Task Force in Medan City.
