BALIKPAPAN
(2 August 2021) - Vino, a 10-year-old
boy from West Kutai, East Kalimantan, who was orphaned because his mother and
father died from Covid-19, finally returned to Grandfather Yatin's house in
Sragen Regency. Grandfather Yatin or usually called Kakung/Mbah by Vino, is
Vino's grandfather from his late mother's family.
Mbah Yatin accompanied by the Social Worker
Service Unit (Sakti Peksos) from Sragen Januri Regency facilitated by the
Sragen District Social Service to pick up Vino to West Kutai Regency, East
Kalimantan.
After making a pilgrimage to the graves of his
son and daughter-in-law in West Kutai, Mbah Yatin returned with Vino to Sragen
Regency. Accompanied directly by the Social Service group of West Kutai Regency
to Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport Balikpapan, Mbah Yatin with Vino and Sakti
Peksos Januri departed for Juanda Airport Surabaya. Then they will be picked up
by the Social Service of Sragen Regency to return to their homes in Gringging
Village, Sambungmacan District, Sragen Regency, Central Java.
The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Social
Rehabilitation Center “Budi Luhur” Banjarbaru Emergency Response Team
consisting of Social Workers and Social Counselors provided psychosocial
support, motivation, and reinforcement to Vino and Mbah Yatin. The team also
provided personal protective packages in the form of medical masks, hand
sanitizers, face shields, and gloves, as well as providing counseling so that
Vino and his family always obey health protocols and wear complete personal
protective equipment when leaving the house.
Furthermore, Vino will live with his extended family in Sragen Regency, Central Java and continue his education.
