Cash Social Assistance is Planned to Continue until December
SERANG (30 May 2020) - The Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara said that the Cash Social Assistance (BST) which was originally going to be implemented in three stages, from April to June 2020, is planned to continue until December 2020.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Social Affairs to journalists and distribution officers during the working visit to monitor the BST distribution process at SMP PGRI Bojonegara, KH. Bakri No. 03 St., Ciranggon Village, Serang Regency, Banten Province.
"We plan to continue the BST program from July to December ," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
Furthermore, the Minister of Social Affairs who was accompanied by the Secretary of the Directorate General for Poverty Handling, Nurul Farijati during the monitoring, explained that the BST, which will be continued until December, will have an adjustment in the value of the assistance from the original Rp600,000 to Rp300,000.
"The value is indeed a difference from Rp 600,000 thousand to Rp 300,000," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
Regarding the decline in the value of the Cash Social Assistance, the Minister of Social Affairs explained that later there would be other programs related to economic recovery, so this was done to prevent overlapping programs.
"In July-December, apart from social assistance, health recovery will also remain, but there will be a lot of economic recovery, so there won't be too much overlap," said the Social Minister.
For information, the number of KPM BST in Serang Regency, Banten Province is 110,015 families. While the number of KPM in Ciranggon Village, Serang Regency is 743 families.
