TABANAN (9 November 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center “Mahatmiya” Bali distributes Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) service for vulnerable groups in Bali Province. The distribution of this aid was symbolically handed over by the Deputy Chairperson of Commission VIII DPR RI, Marwan Dasopang, and his entourage.

 

The handover of this assistance coincided with the Special Working Visit of Members of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives to the Province of Bali. ATENSI support totaling Rp4,932,673,000,00 consisting of necessities for 554 people, ATENSI savings for 651 people, entrepreneurship for 62 people, nurture and care for 42 people, ATENSI savings for 90 orphans, fatherless and motherless affected by Covid-19, and nutritional assistance for 50 orphans due to Covid-19.

 

In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provides accessibility assistance in the form of wheelchairs for 205 people, hearing aids for 50 people, child wheelchairs for 23 people, walkers for 150 people, crutches for 50 people, and smart sticks for 1,000 people.

 

"Thank you for the support of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives for various Ministry of Social Programs. The Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) that we provide is multi-service. Both family, community and residential based," said Head of Social Rehabilitation Center “Kartini” Temanggung, Rahmat Kusnadi.

 

Rahmat also said that the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini initiated the distribution of ATENSI Savings for orphans whose parents died of Covid-19. "Yes, special treatment for Orphans affected by Covid-19. In addition, for people with visual sensory disabilities, we have prepared 1,000 adaptive guide sticks," said Rahmat.

 

Rahmat added that the Ministry of Social Affairs will continue to provide social rehabilitation services in various regions in Indonesia, according to the results of the needs assessment of each beneficiary.

 

Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI, Marwan Dasopang said that his party appreciated the performance of the Ministry of Social Affairs. "We appreciate the performance of the Ministry of Social Affairs. A touching and useful program. The goal is no longer just to assist, but to create beneficiaries who produce well," he said.

 

He also emphasized that Commission VIII of the DPR RI will continue to oversee the Ministry of Social Affairs programs that lead to the independence of the beneficiaries.

 

In line with this, Muhammad Irfan Hakim (16 years old), a person with a disability who is a recipient of ATENSI entrepreneurship assistance, admitted that he was happy to be allowed to have a welding workshop business.

This business was chosen because he had an experience of not being able to finance the repair of his wheelchair, finally, he learned to repair his wheelchair by learning to weld himself.

"Yes, I want to repair my wheelchair but that is expensive, so I learned to repair it myself. From there I thought I wanted to open a welding workshop business", he explained.

Even though he has to go to school while working, he hopes that from this assistance he can chase his dream of owning a three-wheeled motorbike and his own house.

This activity was attended by the Deputy Regent of Tabanan, I Made Edi Wirawan, and the Head of the Bali Provincial Social Office, I Dewa Gede Mahendra Putra, and other invitees.
