TANGERANG (10 December 2020) – Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy and Director General of Social Empowerment (Dayasos) Edi Suharto attended the Launching of the Independent Prosperous Village Program (KSM) in Kampung Anggur, Tangerang City.

In his remarks read by Edi Suharto, Muhadjir gave the highest appreciation to KSM members. The residents are considered proven capable of carrying out village development independently and sustainably.

"Hopefully this program can also be applied in other areas, because it encourages villages to independently fulfill their basic needs. Independent Prosperous Village Program can also develop social entrepreneurship through social and green entrepreneurship, "said Muhadjir in his remarks read by Edi Suharto (10/12).

The launching of the Independent Prosperous Village (KSM) Program was a stage of village development that began with thematic village development since 2018. This thematic village was formed based on people's awareness of the importance of environmental change starting from mindset change.

"I hope the development of KSM will not stop here. KSM development is expected to lead to economic empowerment of its citizens, "he said.

Muhadjir also hopes that KSM will be the embryo of community independence at the Rukun Warga (RW) level combined with government programs or activities, both central and regional. "This is a the President's has directed that all government programs should not only be implemented but also its benefits must be directly felt by the community," he added.

Muhadjir also directed the ranks of the Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet to synergize and integrate existing programs in each agency into this forum so that the President's direction can be carried out and executed properly.

"This is important in realizing the President's vision of Indonesia Maju which is sovereignty, independency, and personality based on mutual cooperation," he said.

On that occasion, together with the Mayor of Tangerang Arief R. Wismansyah, Edi Suharto symbolically handed over a Certificate of Horticultural Competency Test, to the Head of Gondrong Sub-district Basuni and Chairman of RW 03 Kampung Anggur Budi Santoso.

After the inauguration, the group visited Kampung Anggur, one of the KSM locations. Kampung Anggur produces creative processed products including: honey, wine, and freshwater fish farming.
