MEDAN (17 August 2021) – Training Center "Bahagia"
Medan returned to the evacuee post for the North Nias flood disaster right on
the independence day of the Republic of Indonesia. "Bahagia" Center Medan
brought the needed medicines to the Awa'ai Village Evacuee Post.
The medicine was handed
over directly by the Head of "Bahagia" Center, Lyana Siregar to the
Head of the UPTD Awa'ai Health Center Dewi Rini Astuti witnessed by representatives
of the Social Service and Health Service Post at the location.
"We were sent by the
Minister of Social Affairs to visit the flood disaster area, on the second day
we brought medicine, hoping that it can be used as well as possible and help local
residents," said Lyana.
In addition, "Bahagia"
Center Medan also conducts Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) by inviting
children to sing and doing defusing techniques or story sessions with several
adult evacuees.
At the LDP, "Bahagia"
Center Medan team invited the children to sing and distribute snacks, which of
course made them enthusiastic and cheerful.
In the story session with
several adult evacuees, there was sadness and confusion because their houses
were damaged and in disarray. The desire to go home immediately but was
hindered by conditions that still often rained made a mother confused.
"I want to go home
soon, but the house is still very dirty, it still rains outside. You have to be
slow and patient," explained to the mother when talking to Albertin Winda, a
psychologist at "Bahagia" Center Medan.
