SUKABUMI REGENCY (13 March 2021) - The
Director General of Poverty Handling, Asep Sasa Purnama made a working visit to
the Nusantara Fishery Port (PPN) Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi Regency, West Java
Province.
The visit
aims to explore the potential of marine resources on the southern coast of West
Java Province. It is hoped that abundant marine resources will bring progress
for the local community, especially in dealing with poverty in coastal areas.
The
Director-General also saw Bagang's tools in the middle of the sea using a local
fishing boat. This is done to take a closer look at the lives of fishermen so
that patterns of poverty handling in coastal areas can be mapped.
"Our country has good marine potential and can be implemented to deal with existing
problems, with the synergy of various parties, it is hoped that it can foster
the development of social welfare, especially in coastal areas," said Asep
Sasa.
The unique thing that fishermen do in catching fish is using Bagang. A "Light
Fishing" to catch fish in the sea area of the queen harbor. In line with
the 3rd goal of Nawacita (nine-point development agenda), which is to develop
Indonesia from the periphery, it is hoped that the Ministry/Institution programs
can run synergistically in coastal areas so that the community is prosperous.
Present at
the event were the Head of PPN Pelabuhan Ratu, Ririn Sugihariyati and the team,
the West Java Social Entrepreneurship Community, and local fishermen.
