Director General of Social Rehabilitation Monitors Social Rehabilitation Programs for "NF"

JAKARTA (15 May 2020) - Previously, the Social Rehabilitation Center for Children Needing Special Protection (BRSAMPK) "Handayani" in Jakarta had coordinated (13/05) through Focus Group Discussion on Case Handling "NF" with stakeholders via video conference. Stakeholders who attended the discussion included Law Enforcement Officials (APH), Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPPA), Education Office, Health Service, Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI), Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), and others.

The discussion was directly led by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat. In the discussion, several things were agreed upon including the Education Office to assist the "NF" graduation process by considering the portfolio value as well as the test scores and assignments since the 1st semester of the 5th semester, the Health Office stated that it was ready to help prepare for the birth of a "NF" child, plan for placement and providing psychosocial therapy for "NF", as well as the readiness of stakeholders to escort "NF" cases to completion.

This morning, Harry Hikmat made a visit to provide reinforcement to "NF" and to see the progress of the social rehabilitation program for "NF". Located in the public service room of the Children's Hall "Handayani", Harry was accompanied by the Head of the Children's Center "Handayani", Neneng Heryani and Social Workers to motivate "NF" mentally as well as support the development of talent interest by providing painting tools. It is known that "NF" has potential in the field of painting. Harry also stated that he would continue to assist in solving the "NF" case.

The "NF" case returned to the spotlight after her status as a victim of sexual violence was revealed. This needs to be known by the public because the stigma that forms within "NF" is increasingly worrying. The public does not know that there is a correlation between the conditions felt by "NF" after becoming a victim of violence and the crimes they committed to Early Childhood "APA".

Harry also held discussions with social workers and psychologists to find out the developmental conditions of "NF". In addition, Harry gave enthusiasm and support to all social rehabilitation implementers at the "Handayani" Children Center to provide excellent service for the Beneficiaries (PM). The social worker deepened the "NF" case in a long time, so that some important information that was not previously revealed could be revealed.

During their stay at the "Handayani" Children's Center, "NF" has been given many treatments as an intervention step. Based on the Child Social Rehabilitation Program (Progresa), given psychosocial therapy, physical therapy, mental spiritual therapy, and talent development and skills training. Psychosocial therapy includes empty chair therapy and catharsis therapy. The goal of the therapy is to help "NF" release her hidden emotions and feelings so that she can carry out her activities more enthusiastically and can think positively. Furthermore, it was given religious deepening and the implementation of worship to increase PM's belief in God. "NF" was also given handicraft skills and increased interest and talent in painting to support its potential.

"This should be a concern, that" NF "experiences a bad condition that interferes with her mind and development after she becomes a victim of sexual violence. Furthermore, Social Workers and social rehabilitation officers at the" Handayani "Children's Center Should continue to deepen  recovery assistance for psychosocial conditions of  "NF" by doing various treatments," said Harry in front of the media crew.

Furthermore, the "Handayani" children's center will continue to strive to fulfill the rights of "NF, develop its potential, and provide protection for" NF ". The" Handayani "children's center will also immediately coordinate with relevant judges to be able to discuss the resolution of the" NF "case.
