DPR RI Again appreciate the steps taken by the Ministry of Social Affairs in
handling vulnerable groups. Admittedly, various programs of the Ministry of
Social Affairs are humanitarian programs.
Minister
of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini accompanied by Member of Commission VIII DPR
RI Anisah Syakur and Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs Harry
Hikmat visited vulnerable groups in Pasuruan City, East Java. Her visit at the
same time handed over the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) support worth
a total of Rp2,001,808,050,00
"So
ATENSI support is also in nature so that they can be empowered as well, not
depending on us. Like a tricycle. We are diverting the budget for building
construction to make three-wheeled motorbikes and other assistive devices for
people with disabilities," explained Social Minister Risma.
This
assistance is given to vulnerable groups, namely orphans, fatherless and
motherless whose parents died due to Covid-19, persons with disabilities, the
elderly, and victims of drug abuse in Pasuruan and several other areas in East
Java.
This
ATENSI support consists of ATENSI Savings assistance for 1,141 orphans, fatherless
and motherless, entrepreneurship assistance (livestock, angkringan,
motorcycle repair shops) for 352 people, accessibility assistance (tricycle motorbikes,
wheelchairs, canes, and four-legged sticks) for 24 people, and basic needs
assistance (groceries, nutrition, and personal care) for 1,133 people.
In
addition to Social Rehabilitation assistance for vulnerable residents, Social
Minister Risma also assisted Beneficiary Families from the
Directorate General of Social Protection and Security Program in the amount of
Rp62,500,000,00 Social Empowerment Program Rp. 180,000,000 and the Program of
Poverty Handling Rp1,640,000,000,00.
"The
programs of the Ministry of Social Affairs are humanitarian programs, very
noble programs, paying attention to the poor and people in need. So Commission
VIII of the DPR RI always supports the steps of the Ministry of Social
Affairs," said Anisah Syakur, Member of Commission VIII of the DPR RI.
He
hopes that assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs can make
beneficiaries more productive, develop their economy to support their
welfare.
