Ensure Vaccination No Obstacle, "Wyata Guna" Center Respond Cases in Majalengka

MAJALENGKA (13 August 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center “Wyata Guna” Bandung conduct a case response related to the widely circulation the video made by “U” stated that vaccination for Persons with Disabilities in Majalengka Regency was constrained by The Population Identity Number (NIK) and Mobility.


The Wyata Guna Center coordinated with the Head of Majalengka Regency Social Service, H. Gandana, and their staff to get clarity of the information.


“This is just misunderstanding when “U” and his entourage from Pondok Dilan (Disabled and elderly) visited the residence of The House of Representative Republic of  Indonesia in 21th July for gathering related to National Children’s Day” H. Gandana Said.


Furthermore, the case response team conduct an assessment to “U” and 9 disabilities people from Pondok Dilan. From the result of assessment, it is known that “U” was born in Majalengka, 25 years old, his father was dead and his mother is a midwife, is a Physical Disabilities person with Cerebral Palsy.


Although “U” has a physical limitations (O shaped feet) but he is very excited to learn. He is currently a student in Nahdatul Ulama University Cirebon in the fourth semester of PGSD major and active in various activites that related to Disabilities, such as becomes a Disability Ambassador for Cirebon City from Asian Development Bank (ADB) in 2020.


Coincides with National Children’s Day, “U” and his entourage from Pondok Dilan accompanied by “A” from Children’s forum and the Child Protect Agency visited the residence of The House of Representative Republic of Indonesia, Kyai Maman Imanulhaq, for personal visit.


On this occasion, vaccine and few programs related to disabilities services was discussed, including the ATENSI (Social Rehabilitation Assistance) program of The Ministry of Social Affairs consist aids for orphans whose parents were affected COVID-19.


“Disability vaccine have a problems with NIK and mobility” the meaning that he said is obstacle to NIK and mobility are not only in Majalengka Regency but have become a discourse.


Furthermore “U” stated that the video he made is not intended to provide information that vaccine in Majalengka Regency  has problems, but he only wants to convey aspirations and hopes Kyai Maman can help to provide a solution. In the end Ministry of Health facilitated vaccines for disability people with NIK following requires.


The implementation of the vaccine against “U” will be carried out on August 20th 2021 in Ligung Village, Ligung District, and the schedule for the implementation of vaccine for the other disability people, the Majalengka Social Service will coordinate with the Public Health Center.


The technical implementation of vaccination for Disability People is integrated with People with Mental Disorder (ODGJ) District Social Service Majalengka Regency declared their willingness to support the mobility of vaccine implementation.


The Social services and Majalengka Regency Health Office is currently accelerating data to the smallest unit by mobilized all the stakeholder.
