JAKARTA (November 29, 2019) - Research and policy are in the spotlight of the President of the Republic of Indonesia at a limited Cabinet meeting, April 2019. The President said that research should not only meet the needs of researchers conducting research and report on the results of that research. But, research must also be able to provide maximum benefits and results of solving problems that occur.

The Social Education and Counseling Education Agency (Badiklitpensos, ed) through the Social Welfare Research and Development Center, the Ministry of Social Affairs will hold an International Workshop in order to synergize research with the development of social welfare policies.

To consolidate the event the Head of Badiklitpensos coordinated sakal at the same time inviting the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Coal to be the Speaker in the International Workshop.

The workshop brought together academics, both domestic and foreign, social sector researchers, policy makers, policy analysts, practitioners and other relevant stakeholders. Said the Head of the Social Education and Counseling Education Agency (Badiklit Pensos) Ministry of Social Affairs (Ministry of Social Affairs) Syahabuddin in his report to the Minister of Social Affairs in the Social Affairs office. The workshop is expected to be an arena for exchange of ideas through presentations from experts and practitioners who bring up research, insights, good practices and learning, at the national level, as well as international experience relevant to the Indonesian context. Syahabuddin added.

On the same occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs said "there are still many policies made by the Government that are far from expectations, cannot be implemented well, overlapping. In the future, research synergy and policy are needed to solve this problem ".

"We build a strong civil society, build our civilization and continue to develop human development, we must dare to invest long term in terms of soft skills," explained the Minister at his direction to the Head of the Research Institute for Social Education and Counseling
