BATU
(6 November 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center Margo Laras in Pati followed up on
the instructions of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini to respond
to emergencies and provide psychological support services for victims affected
by flash floods in Batu City, East Java.
Triggered
by high-intensity rainfall and the blockage of logs in upstream of the
river are the main causes of flash floods on Thursday, November 04, 2021, at
14.00 WIB.
Margo
Laras Rapid Response Team immediately coordinated with the Batu City Social Office,
Head of the Social Protection and Security Division, Kasmari, and Head of Social
Rehabilitation Section, Dewi explained that the severely affected location
point was Bumiaji District, Sumber Brantas Village, Bulu Kerto, Tulung Rejo
Village, Padang Rejo Village, and Sidomulyo Village
It
was confirmed that the victims of the flash flood were 11 people who were
estimated to have been lost (drifted away), 4 people were found safe, the rest
were still in the search stage. Losses from this flash flood are interpreted as
4 Drifting Vehicles and 1 Submerged House Unit.
As
an effort that has been made by the local government of Tagana, Batu City,
along with other volunteers, a team has been dispatched to the scene of the
incident to carry out a quick crime and collect data. Tagana city of Batu also
cleared the mud and searched for missing victims. The process of
preparing evacuation sites for victims to preparations for opening a public
kitchen.
The
last condition is Thursday, November 04, 2021, at 17.50 WIB, the weather is
currently raining with light intensity and the flooding has receded.
Efforts were made by Margo Laras Team after coordinating with Batu City Social Office by
directly checking the public kitchen and the postal function, followed by the
provision of ATENSI support in the form of ADL and nutrition materials.
The
next day, November 6, 2021, Margo Laras team carried out a Psychosocial Support
Service (LDP) activity targeting 20 child victims affected by the flood.
Head
of Margo Laras Pati revealed the benefits of psychosocial support service activities
to provide psychological therapy so that children who have experienced trauma
can recover.
