SURABAYA (January 2, 2021) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini retrospects social service programs in Surabaya City that she had previously led. A number of social services for handling neglected children and the elderly are the points of visit today, Saturday (02/01).

"We visited the UPTD (regional technical service unit) of the Surabaya City Social Office namely the Kalijudan Social Housing Complex which fosters homeless and beggars’ children and children with disabilities, UPTD Griya Werdha Jambangan which serves neglected / poor elderly, and UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri which educate street and neglected children, "said Risma.

She made this visit after distributing assistance from the Social Rehabilitation Assistance Program (ATENSI) to former street children and the elderly who were assisted by the Mojopahit Foundation in the ex-localization in Balong Cangkring (BC), Prajuritkulon Subdistrict, Mojokerto City and for residents suffering from leprosy in Sumber Glagah Village, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency.

At the beginning of her position as Minister of Social Affairs, Risma stated that empowering neglected children and the elderly would be one of the priorities focuses of the Ministry of Social Affairs during her leadership.

In the midst of today's retrospect, she also visited one of the examples of citizen empowerment of Gang Dolly (ex-localization) in Surabaya which has succeeded in becoming a craft and a creative economy area.

"This is one of the batik made by Ms. Dian. So good that it's hard to get, because it is unique. Here (Dolly Gang) we have some points (which have been built) such as parks, futsal and a bird market, "said Risma while visiting the Mampu Jaya Joint Business Group (KUB) at Kulang Gunung Timur Gang Dolly Surabaya.

The Ministry of Social Affairs itself has a Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program which provides services including for former neglected children and the elderly through family, community and / or residential-based approaches.

The ATENSI program consists of 7 (seven) service components, namely, activities to support the fulfilment of decent living needs, social care, family support, therapy (physical, psychosocial, mental spiritual), vocational training, entrepreneurship development, social assistance, as well as accessibility support.

Risma who was accompanied by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, also visited the Surabaya City Siola Public Service Mall which is one of the leading services for the community.
