JEMBER REGENCY (August 28, 2021) - The distribution of Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) by Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini continues. A total of Rp. 465 million was symbolically distributed at the Rambi Puji District Office for residents in Jember and Lumajang Regencies, East Java.

The total assistance will be given to 22 orphans, fatherless and motherless, 165 people are given entrepreneurship assistance such as convection, laundry, electronic services, massage businesses, livestock, cake/food making businesses, fisheries, tire patches and handicrafts.

Then 4 people were given accessibility assistance such as adaptive guide sticks, wheelchairs and Educational Game Equipment (APE) and 112 people were given basic needs assistance in the form of necessities and the fulfillment of life needs.

Social Minister Risma said that the ATENSI program has begun to be distributed, one of which is assistance for orphans, fatherless and motherless. "We get a lot of complaints about it because their parents died due to Covid-19. We are still trying to collect our budget and currently, 24 billion has been collected for orphans, fatherless and motherless affected by Covid-19," said Social Minister Risma.

The Ministry of Social Affairs does not only provide support for orphans in the family but also those in the Social Rehabilitation Center and at the Social Welfare Institutions (LKS). The Ministry of Social Affairs is also preparing social rehabilitation centers so that they can accommodate them (no one is taking care of them).

Data collection on orphans, fatherless and motherless is carried out by the local government and submitted to the Ministry of Social Affairs. "We hope that by the end of this month the data will have been collected. We can immediately assist with the existing data," said Social Minister Risma.

A total of 3 orphans, fatherless and motherless who were given ATENSI assistance were also motivated by Social Minister Risma. "Don't be afraid, don't be inferiority, because there is an Almighty God, so you are not alone. Everything in this world is just a deposit, including parents. So we must be ready when the time comes to be called by the Almighty," said Social Minister Risma.

The Minister of Social Affairs also advised them not to give up, continue to study to become successful people. Social Minister Risma also stated that she would be the mother of the three children, namely Adinda, Jidan, and Stefanus. "Now Mrs. Risma is your mother. I will monitor you at school," said Social Minister Risma.

Another ATENSI recipient, Yayu Indarwati, admitted that she wanted to expand her business. "Yes, I only have a manual sewing machine. Now that I have an overlock machine from the Ministry of Social Affairs, I am happy and hopefully, my income can increase. I am more enthusiastic," she said.

Likewise with Husni Mubarok, one of the blind people who received the assistance of an adaptive guide stick. He admitted that the adaptive guide stick is very effective and efficient for people with total blindness.

"This Adaptive Guide Stick is very helpful. I feel calmer and feel safer when walking. I hope with this stick my orientation will be better and many other blind people can get this smart stick," hoped Husni.

This ATENSI support is a collaboration of social rehabilitation centers belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs, namely the Social Rehabilitation Center Prof. Dr. Soeharso, Kartini Center, Satria Center, Antasena Center, Margo Laras Center and Mahatmiya Center.

This ATENSI distribution activity was also attended by Member of Commission VIII DPR RI Umar Bashor, Director of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly Andi Hanindito, Director General of Poverty Handling, Asep Sasa Purnama, Director General of Social Protection and Security, Pepen Nazarudin, Regent of Jember Hendy Siswanto, Special Staff to the Minister of Social Affairs Suhadi Lili and Don Rozano and representatives from the Association of State Banks (Himbara).
