JAKARTA (July 27, 2020) – Since the enactment of Law (UU) number 14 of 2019 on Social Workers (Peksos), the Ministry of Social Affairs has continued to strengthen human resources for Social Workers.

Education Research and Social Counseling Agency (BP3S) through the Center for Professional Development of Social Workers and Social Counselors (Pusbangprof Peksos and Pensos) continues to aggressively optimize the roles and functions of existing social worker human resources.

Along with the pandemic that is still not over and is now entering the new normal era, the Professional Development Center on Social Worker And Social Counselling (Pusbangprof Peksos and Pensos)held a workshop on Social Work Functional Positions in the new normal era.

Head of BP3S Syahabuddin in his direction said that Social Workers are fighters for humanity.

“This social worker helps other humans who are in trouble and need help. All of you are fighters for humanity," said Syahabuddin at the Education and Training on Social Welfare Hall, Jakarta, 27/7.

Syahabuddin also hopes that (Pusbangprof Peksos and Pensos)will continue to strengthen the existing Human Resources for Social Workers.

Furthermore, the man who likes cycling said that if the Social Worker Law was passed, it would make this is a profession is not random.

"This profession is very important to support the Indonesian people from the social aspect that will not be separated from the life of a human being, and even social life," he said.

The head of Pusbangprof Social Worker and Social CounselorTati Nugrahati on the same occasion said that next month there would be a competency test for social workers.

"As a report, in an effort to strengthen social workers' human resources, in August we will hold a social worker competency test with a total of 1,600 participants," explained the Head of Pusbangprof Peksos and Pensos

For your information, the activities are carried out face-to-face and virtual, the participants attending the face-to-face meeting are 100 people while still paying attention to health protocols from the government. Also present were speakers from the University of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Bambang Shergi Laksmono and from Pujiono Center.
