IKO and MODI are the New Social Instructor Icons

JAKARTA (February 26, 2020) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs' Social Counseling Center (Puspensos) continues to show its existence which is part of an important element in the Organization of Social Welfare.

Social counseling is also present through the Community Social Instructor as a basic movement and the initial movement for the Implementation of Social Welfare in 1,485 Social Resilient Villages / Villages throughout Indonesia.

Head of the Social Research and Counseling Agency (BP3S) Prof. Syahabuddin said that social educators are the backbone in the organization of social welfare.

This social instructor is the backbone in the organization of social welfare.

"Social counselors can be the mediator between the community and the Government, especially the implementation of national priority programs in the Ministry of Social Affairs in poverty alleviation," he said

That matter Prof. Syahabuddin said at the 2020 Social Counseling Coordination Meeting at the Cawang Kencana Building Jakarta, Wednesday (02/26/2020).

Prof. Syahabuddin also advised the hundreds of social instructors who were present at the occasion to continue to always be in the midst of society, to be able to change social behavior and instill good human values.

"I give an example of the emergence of social phenomena, especially in the social security of the community, for example when the phenomenon of Sundanese empire emerges, where social counselors are present to socialize the importance of the concept of nationalism in the community," said Prof. Syahabuddin.

The 2020 Counseling Social Coordination meeting was also used as a Momentum for Multimedia Counseling launching.

The Head of Puspensos, Hasim, when met after the event delivered the launching of Multimedia Counseling as the media for optimizing social counseling through KIME (Communication, Information, Motivation and Education).

"Multimedia Counseling is also a means to integrate and synergize the implementation of social counseling programs in the implementation of social welfare in 2020," said Hasim.

Hasim also added that in the launching of Multimedia Counseling, we at the same time want to introduce the IKO and MODI social instructor icon, which stands for Communication Information (IKO) and Educational Motivation (MODI)," Hasim explained.

Also present at the event were the Inspector General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Director General of social rehabilitation, the Secretary of BP3S and the Heads of Work Units, Echelon II Officials within the Ministry of Social Affairs.
