JAMBI (May 6th, 2020) – Jambi “Alyatama” Children’s Center continues to make efforts so that children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic can survive. These efforts were discussed in depth with an internal meeting via Zoom Meeting app.

The condition of the COVID-19 pandemic is increasing, especially in the area of Southern Sumatera (SumBangSel) which is the working area of the “Alyatama Children’s Center, attacking vulnerable groups, one of which is children. The condition of children who are helpless, dependent on their families, and their families are also unable to fulfill basic needs due to the many regulations limiting the space to make a living in terms of overcoming COVID-19, which is the main concern of the Center to speed up the process of distributing Social Assistance (Bansos).

The social assistance provided in the form of basic food worth Rp300,000/child will be distributed to approximately 1,000 children who are within the working area of “Alyatama” Children’s Center.

“To speed up the distribution of social assistance, so that in the near future, a managing team can be formed while waiting for the official technical guidelines from the Center regarding the social assistance distribution mechanism for children affected by the pandemic,” said the Head of the Center, Imron Rosadi.

In addition, this interactive discussion also addressed the directions from the Director General of Social Rehabilitation (Dirjen Rehsos), Harry Hikmat, who emphasized the expansion of children’s centers’ functions and activities to support Cash Social Assistance (BST) and the Ministry of Social Affairs’ Basic Assistance in collaboration with PT Pos and Association of State Banks (Himbara) in South Sumatera in the form of assistance and monitoring. Of course, these tasks will be strengthened by the Circular Letter and Decree of the Director General of Social Rehabilitation.

The activity, which was led by the Head of the Center, was attended by 10 participants, namely all Echelon IV officers, Financial Report Planners/Compilers, Social Assessment and Advocacy Section Staff, Social Rehabilitation Service Section Staff, and Social Worker representatives.
