SUBANG (August 11, 2022) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation provides socio-economic strengthening for ex-prostitutes through Entrepreneurship Debriefing for Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS). The activity was carried out from 8 to 11 August 2022 in Subang Regency, West Java Province.

This activity is a provision for the first wave of entrepreneurship and will be continued for other districts/cities within the scope of West Java Province, in accordance with the results of the previous assessment.

The briefing participants were 20 ex prostitutes. They are given training by competent instructors. Brands received entrepreneurial materials and practices, learned how to cook, made various food preparations, was taught the basics of sewing and overlay techniques, beauty salons and hair stylists. They are also provided with entrepreneurial strengthening regarding business planning and management, designing budget plan for the needs of their respective business plans, guidance and motivation to rebuild self-concept and productive life ethos, then they are asked to repeat the materials and practices that have been taught.

Now the ex-prostitutes already have the skills and an idea of ​​the business plan they will pursue after attending the debriefing. Some of the business plans they will carry out are in accordance with the briefings they get, including opening food stalls, basic food stalls, hawker stalls, selling chicken noodles, clothing, cosmetics, beauty tools, trading fried foods, grilled sausages, karedok, opening cellphone counters, salons, haircut and sewing.

Starting with group dynamics and ice breaking, all participants followed each session with enthusiasm and spirit. The activities of debriefing, coaching, mentoring, social guidance and skills are very much needed for ex prostitutes.

Through this activity, it is hoped that it can increase the capacity and train the independence of ex-prostitutes, so that they no longer carry out immoral practices and prepare themselves to return to carrying out their social functions and play an active role in social life.
