JAKARTA (May 16, 2020) - After distributing the basic food packages in Jatimakmur Village, Pondok Gede, Bekasi City, on the same day, the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara, distributed the third phase of the basic food packages to residents of DKI Jakarta, especially Krukut Village, Tamansari, West Jakarta.

Together with the Head of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareksrim), Inspector General of Police Listyo Sigit, and the Director General of Social Protection and Security, Pepen Nazaruddin, the Social Affairs Minister Ari walked down the narrow streets to be able to hand over the basic food to the rightful citizens.

"I am with Mr. Kabareskrim (are) in Krukut Village, Tamansari District, a very dense settlement, we can see, in one RW there are four thousand heads of families (KK)," said the Minister in Krukut Village, West Jakarta, Saturday ( 16/5).

Here, continued Ari, they have received three stages, "The first stage of basic food has been received, the second is Bulog rice, the third is basic food again," he added.

A total of 1,066 basic food packages were received by RW 03 Krukut Urban Village, from which initially only received around 400 basic food packages in the first and second stages. From the chart, the Minister of Social Affairs stated that there was clear evidence of data improvement from Krukut Village.

"The first stage is around 400, now there are more than 1,000, so there is data improvement. This is what we say that for the next stage we give trust to RT/RW to re-record so that the data is more accurate," explained the Minister of Social Affairs.

Meanwhile, three residents who were met after being given basic food by the Social Minister said that they had received basic food assistance for the third time and were greatly helped thanks to these packages. The three of them are residents of RT 05, namely Respi (61), Siti Muntiah (33), and Masdar Alek (68).

"I got it for the third time. There are a lot (of contents in the package), alhamdulillah, I was really helped, so it lightened the burden, there was rice, sardines, corned beef, alhamdulillah, I won't be able to buy all of this," said Respi gratefully while the contents of the food package.

The same thing was said by Siti Muntiah, a housewife who relies on her husband's income from maintaining a boarding house business. As a result of many boarding house residents returning to their hometowns (before the implementation of the PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions), her husband was also affected by COVID-19.

"My husband's salary was cut because of COVID-19, he was previously paid 2 million, now his salary has been cut to 1,2 million. Now, I got this help, alhamdulillah, this is a great help from Mr. Jokowi, Mr. President. This is the third time in total from Mr. President," she said, telling the fate that she endured.

As for Masdar Alek, an elderly who depends on the income of his wife (working in the hospital) and two of his children (online motorcycle taxi driver), admits that his daily needs are barely enough since his son cannot work anymore as usual. Now, he only relies on his wife's job, who is soon retiring.

"Alhamdulilah, we were helped a lot, at least, enough to make ends meet, I’m grateful to have gotten the third one. Previously, I (got) basic food once, it was rice, then this, thank you the government for the assistance," he said softly.
