JAKARTA (August 28, 2020) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs together with the Tanoto Foundation held a Kick-Off Meeting starting with Cooperation in Handling and Reduction and Prevention of Stunting at the Ministry of Social Affairs Headquarters Jakarta, Friday.

"Without the courage to innovate and make policy breakthroughs and cooperation, hopes to reduce stunting rates in Indonesia will be difficult to realize," said Social Minister Juliari P. Batubara in his remarks.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has a strategic role to address this issue through various Social Protection Programs such as the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Basic Food Assistance. With this program, it is hoped that efforts to reduce and prevent stunting will be more optimal.

In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs also has supporting Human Resources (HR) such as PKH Social Assistance, Social Counselors, and others.

In preparing competent human resources, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Agency for Education, Research and Social Counseling (Badiklitpensos) will prepare training programs related to stunting reduction and prevention, including through Education and Training (Diklat), Social Counseling, and so on.

Education and training programs for stunting prevention include preparing modules, teaching staff (Widyaiswara) by the Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (Pusdiklat Kesos) which is also supported by the Tanoto Foundation.

Also attending the Global CEO Tanoto Foundation event, Satrijo Tanudjojo; Middle High Officials; Special Staff to the Minister of Social Affairs; and the Tanoto Foundation Team.
