SURAKARTA (23 December 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Soeharso Surakarta Center has distributed all Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) supports in the form of savings at Bank Mandiri for orphans, fatherless and motherless whose parents died due to Covid-19.

 

As many as 31 regencies/cities which are the working areas of the Soeharso Surakarta Central Office, ATENSI assistance has been distributed to YAPI children covering Central Java and Solo Raya, namely Pekalongan Regency, Surakarta City, Boyolali Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, and Klaten Regency.

 

For the East Java region, it covers 11 regencies, namely Jombang, Kediri, Blitar, Madiun, Mojokerto, Malang, Pasuruan, Trenggalek, Sidoarjo, Probolinggo and Tulungagung regencies. It also supports 8 cities, namely Blitar, Batu, Malang, Pasuruan, Kediri, Mojokerto, Probrolinggo and Surabaya.

 

In the Kalimantan region, the Central Kalimantan region consists of West Kotawaringin Regency, East Kotawaringin Regency, Sukamara Regency and Lamandau Regency. For East Kalimantan, it includes Paser Regency, Samarinda City and Balikpapan City.

 

Following the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, the Ministry of Social Affairs will assist orphans, whose parents died due to Covid-19. Previously, data collection and needs assessment had also been carried out by the Social Rehabilitation Facilitator in collaboration with the Provincial and Regency/City Social Offices.

 

Based on data obtained by the Ministry of Social Affairs as of September 29, 2021, it is known that as many as 37,951 children have become orphans, due to Covid-19. The total assistance that has been distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Soeharso Surakarta Center is Rp. 2,689,200,000, - with a total of 3043 PPKS beneficiaries for orphans, whose parents died due to Covid-19 spread across 31 regencies/cities.

 

The Soeharso Surakarta Center is actively coordinating with local governments and Social Rehabilitation Assistants spread across regencies/cities, both in updating data on orphans, due to Covid-19 and also when distributing aid.

 

This is done as a form of synergy between the central government and local governments in dealing with social problems that exist in the community.
