Ministry of Social Affairs Distributes ATENSI Program in North Tapanuli Regency

TAPANULI (26 October 2021) – The Ministry of Social
Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Melati Jakarta handed over Social
Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) aid to 180 people with disabilities and the
elderly in North Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. The series of aid
delivery activities will start from October 25-28, 2021.
The handover
of ATENSI service was carried out directly by the Head of the Jakarta Melati
Center, Romal Uli Jaya Sinaga, witnessed by the wife of the Regent of North
Tapanuli, Satika Simamora, and the Head of the Social Office of North Tapanuli
Regency, Rahman Situmeang at the Hall of the Social Office of North Tapanuli
Regency.
ATENSI aid
distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs through Melati Center of Jakarta
is provided in the form of accessibility support in the form of Hearing Aids
(ABD) for 100 persons with hearing and speech sensory disabilities and the
form of entrepreneurship development in the form of agricultural equipment for
80 persons with disabilities and the elderly in 15 sub-districts of the North Tapanuli
Regency with a total aid value of Rp. 392,000,000.
The Head of Melati
Center of Jakarta in his speech said that the ATENSI aid distributed in the
North Tapanuli Regency was a form of the Ministry of Social Affairs’ commitment
to always be present to overcome social problems in the community.
“ATENSI aid
is given as an effort to respect, protect and fulfill the rights of persons
with disabilities and the elderly as vulnerable groups of people. We hope that
this ATENSI aid can improve the welfare of the people of North Tapanuli and it
is hoped that the Social Office can provide ongoing assistance to ensure that
aid management is carried out wisely and responsibly," said Romal.
Social
Rehabilitation Center Melati Jakarta in collaboration with PT. ABDI (Indonesian
Hearing Aid) in conducting the process of examining the level of hearing loss
for 100 ATENSI beneficiaries in the form of ABD. In addition to conducting
inspections, officers from PT. ABDI also provides dissemination regarding the
use and maintenance of ABD to parents and persons with hearing and speech sensory
disabilities.
The wife of
the Regent of North Tapanuli, Satika Simamora expressed her appreciation for
the assistance provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs through Melati Center
of Jakarta. He was present on behalf of the Regent who was unable to attend.
