JAKARTA (September 2, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Bekasi "Budhi Dharma" Elderly Social Rehabilitation Center distributed Family-based Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) service for 16 elderly in Kramat Pulo Village, Senen, Central Jakarta. Assistance is given after an assessment is carried out according to the needs and problems faced by the elderly.

 

The forms of assistance for each elderly vary according to their needs, there are nutritional packages (elderly milk, honey, biscuits) hygiene care/personal protection packages (bath/washing soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, mask, hand sanitizer), room facilities (mattresses, bed sheets, pillows, blankets, carpets, cupboards), accessibility (wheelchair, tripod, blind cane) as well as additional business capital for some elderly who have activities and interests in business.

 

"The relief items for Kramat Pulo are ready, distribute them immediately so that their parents can immediately use them, because there are also vegetable business ingredients that don't last long, so the elderly must receive them immediately," said Dewi Kania, Head of Administration for Budhi Dharma Bekasi. .

 

"Thank you to the Ministry of Social Affairs for helping me in a wheelchair, I have had a stroke for two years, thank you also for helping us (Kasminah and Urip) we have received a lot of nutrition, the need for bathing, wheelchairs, mattresses, sheets, blankets, including capital for us to try to make charcoal from coconut shells, even though we live on the edge of the rail, we are still comfortable/happy to live here, we can still burn coconut shells for us to sell," said Kasminah accompanied by her husband, Urip, who is disabled from being hit by a train for decades then but still able to do charcoal business.

 

"I'm Muhani (68 years old) before corona I still like to massage, but now I can’t do that, Alhamdulillah I got help from the Ministry of Social Affairs so I can sell lontong vegetables with my child in the morning when it's finished then I continue to massage," said Muhani.

 

Together with the assistants from the Independent Indonesian Youth Community (KPIM) ​​with the Chairperson of Ipit S, the Social Workers and Social Counselors are eager to assist and also, provide education about the use of aid.

 

"Mbah, this wheelchair is assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs, if you are going to be sitting on it, it will be locked, so it's safer not to move, but if you want to walk, you can unlock it and if you're not using it, this is how you fold it," said Triyatni, a Social Counselor.

Interesting from the variety of elderly businesses in Kampung Pulo, even though in the midst of densely populated settlements and the famous ondel-ondel village, but still enthusiastic about doing business as did the elderly, Grandpa Abdur-Rahman (76 years) who rarely spoke but was revealed by his grandson, his business of making ondel-ondel dolls was done since he was young, and now he prefers his business to be supported with the help of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Not much different from Muhani and Abdur-Rahman, Semah (61 years old) is happy to receive assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs with her husband Ramdani (68 years old) receiving nutrition (elderly milk, honey, biscuits), mattresses, bolsters, sheets, blankets, carpets, and even materials for making business ondel-ondel flowers and others. There are even other elderly who get help with a wardrobe as one of the items from the room facilities.
