UNGARAN (September 3, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Bekasi "Budhi Dharma" Elderly Social Rehabilitation Center distributed Family-based Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) service for 150 elderly in Semarang Regency, Semarang City, and Salatiga City. Assistance in the form of 6 wheelchairs, 6 walkers, and 150 additional nutritional packages worth a total of Rp. 94,725,000,-

 

The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, together with the Head of FPKS Commission VIII DPR RI, Buchori, symbolically handed over assistance to Suntoro (73 years), an elderly from Bandungan District at the Semarang Regent's Office Hall. "Mbah, what do you need now?" asked Risma. Based on the results of the assessment, Mbah Suntoro needs a walker.

 

"Mbah Suntoro was involved in a hit-and-run accident three years ago, and injured his leg, ma'am," said Pujiyanto, Head of the Bekasi Budhi Dharma Center. In addition to the walker, Mbah Suntoro also received additional nutritional packages in the form of honey, milk, sardines, corned beef, biscuits, and shredded beef.

 

Furthermore, the distribution of assistance was handed over directly to 149 elderly in three locations.

 

Jatemi, a recipient of ATENSI assistance for wheelchair accessibility and nutrition kits for an 80 year-old elderly living in Tingkir District, Salatiga City, had a stroke 8 months ago before being able to do activities in the garden and the fields. When sick, his grandson helps him with his daily activities.

 

Expressions of gratitude were conveyed to the social workers of "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi for the wheelchair assistance they received. “I used to go to gardens and rice fields, now I can't anymore. Every day I pray with tayammum, after every sunset I recite as much as possible. Thank you, may God repay the kindness of the ladies and gentlemen who visited and brought a wheelchair. Your working is given sustenance that is blessed and useful in the hereafter," said Jatemi in Javanese.

 

The series of activities for distributing ATENSI Assistance "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi Center is a collaboration of the Social Rehabilitation Center belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs which was symbolically distributed at the Semarang Regency Hall by the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia with a total value of Rp. 1,442,423,400,- as a form of commitment to provide protection and fulfillment of the rights of Indonesian citizens according to the results of the needs assessment.

 

The distribution of ATENSI assistance at the Semarang Regency Hall was also attended by the Regent of Semarang, the Head of Social Services for Central Java Province, the Head of Social Services for Semarang Regency, Member of the House of Representatives Buchori, Bank Mandiri Head of Government Project Jhon Andri Asman, Deputy for Child Protection at the PPPA Ministry and echelon 1 and 2 Ministry of Social Affairs RI.
