CIANJUR (26 October 2021) - Traveling hundreds of kilometers, the Head of Ciungwanara Center, Siti Sari Rumayanti, and the team visited Gunawan's house in Muara Telu Village, Bojongkasih Village, Kadupandak District, Cianjur Regency to hand over Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) aid in the form of family nutrition assistance, toys educative, a pair of sheep to raise and a large frying pan for palm sugar business.

 

The delivery of aid was accompanied by local village officials, the Head of District and Kadupandak District Police Chief, as well as representatives of the Cianjur Regency Social Office.

 

This activity was carried out in response to a case that went viral on social media with the headline that a husband who took care of his wife who was suspected of being a Person with Mental Disorders (ODGJ), lived in a very inappropriate house and was ostracized by residents.

 

Previously, on October 15, 2021, the Social Worker of the Bogor Ciungwanara Center had coordinated in advance with the Cianjur District Social Office and assessed the TKSK Kadupandak. From the results of the assessment, Ciungwanara Center of Bogor encouraged the Cianjur district to build a house for Gunawan through the Uninhabitable House (Rutilahu) program and take care of residence documents for Gunawan and his family.

 

"Based on instructions from the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, in addition to nutritional assistance, Ciungwanara Center also provides entrepreneurship assistance following the results of the previous assessment. The Minister advised that this assistance can be utilized as much as possible so that later the goats raised can breed quickly and can improve the family economy," explained Siti Sari Rumayanti.

 

The results of the field review show that Gunawan's house has been dismantled and is being built together by neighbors with some assistance from outside donations, as well as the processing of population documents in the form of an ID card that has gone through the biometric recording stage at the sub-district office.

 

Gunawan and his family were disturbed by the news that his wife was considered "crazy" and ostracized by society since his wife lived according to the standard of living of residents and was received by the community.
