Ministry of Social Affairs Holds Short Film Competition to Promote New Normal

JAKARTA (July 20, 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Educational Research and Social CounselingAgency, held a Short Film Contest titled "My New Normal Version" which was held from June 8 to July 17, 2020.

According to the Head of Educational Research and Social Extension Agency Syahabuddin, this competition can be an incentive for the community to continue working during the pandemic. And It is hoped that from the film we can provide education and understanding to the public about what New Normal behavior is.

"By holding this competition, we hope to spread optimism in the midst of a pandemic situation, and keep the spirit to produce quality works," said the Head ofEducational Research and Social Extension Agency, Monday (20/7).

Furthermore, Syahabuddin said, this short film could be a socialize medium for the government for the community in carrying out the activities of the new arrangement in daily life.

"In the current pandemic situation, people are still expected with high self-awareness to be able to implement health protocols," he added

On July 17, 2020, 5 winning films and 10 favorite films have been announced, which will then be givenRewards, namely:
1stPrize winner is Rp. 25 million
2nd prize winner is Rp. 15 million
3rd prize winner is Rp. 10 million
Hope Prize 1 of Rp. 7.5 million
Hope Prize 2 of Rp. 5 million

Entertainment Prizes for 10 Nomination winners each Rp. 2 million. And all participants will be given a Charter of Appreciation.

Educational Research and Social Extension AgencySecretary Harapan LumbanGaol also said that almost all provinces in Indonesia participated in this short film competition. It turn out the enthusiasm of the community was very great.

“The spirit of this competitionisnot to makepeople linger in sadness, so that people don't get lost in their thoughts, even though during a pandemic like now, people have to keep working. We must rise together to create a conducive climate, and we all hope that this pandemic can end soon," said Harapan.
