JAKARTA (February 20th 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs commitment to realizing social entrepreneurship in dealing with poverty problems is getting more intense. Previously, the Ministry of Social Affairs in the Hearing with Commission VIII DPR RI was given a target to integrate 1 million PKH KPM. KPM that has been integrated will be empowered with a social entrepreneurship program.

This is also in line with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P Batubara so that in addition to focusing on social protection, the Minister of Social Affairs also asks to strengthen social empowerment.

Related to that, all the Education Research and Social Counseling Board (BP3S) of the Ministry of Social Affairs are moving fast. This time BP3S is exploring cooperation with World Bank Indonesia.

"This discussion is intended to receive input, especially from the World Bank Indonesia on steps to implement Social Entrepreneurship policies," said BP3S Secretary Harapan Lumban Gaol in a written statement on Thursday, 20/2/2020.

BP3S in accordance with its duties and functions, especially in the field of education and training for human resources, social welfare (Kesos) will also provide training for social assistants such as training of trainers (TOT) for lecturers and social assistants.

World Bank Indonesia, represented by the Senior Economist of World Bank Indonesia, Mr. Changqin Sun expressed his willingness to provide social assistance, especially in preparing Social Welfare human resources to realize social entrepreneurship.

The World Bank understands the need for Ministry of Social Affairs to build social entrepreneurship and to build new e-learning modules requires a thorough understanding of what needs to be built and what goals to achieve from social entrepreneurship.

"There are 2 types of KPM graduations, namely the first KPM has finished the PKH program or there is no social assistance component anymore and KPM has improved its welfare," said Changqin.

Both, continued Changqin, require a different approach in handling and assistance to conduct social entrepreneurship training in an effort to improve the welfare of KPM.

On this occasion, also attended the Heads of Centers in the BP3S environment, including the Head of the Social Welfare Education and Training Center, the Social Welfare Development Research Center, the Social Worker and Social Counselor Professional Development Center and the Social Counseling Center. The meeting was held on the fifth floor of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs building.
