BOGOR (April 22nd 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) launched the Cash Social Assistance (Bansos) program with PT Pos Kota Bogor. This collaborative activity was carried out at the Cibadak Post Office, Bogor City, West Java. Starting from this launch, PT Pos as a partner of the Ministry of Social Affairs will begin distributing Cash Social Assistance to Beneficiary Families (KPM) in various regions in Indonesia.

Representing the Ministry of Social Affairs at the launch of Cash Social Assistance in Bogor City, the Director of Poverty Handling (PFM) Region III, AM Asnandar said that Cash Social Assistance is one of the social safety nets prepared by the government to minimize the impact of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). "Currently, many residents have been affected by COVID-19, some have lost their jobs and their income has decreased, so this cash assistance is more aimed at people who have never received assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs," said Director of PFM Region III.

The Director of PFM Region III further stated that this Cash Social Assistance is more aimed at KPM who have never previously received assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs such as the Basic Food Program and the Family Hope Program (PKH). "What is given is people who do not receive social assistance PKH (Family Hope Program) and the Basic Food Program," explained the Director of PFM Region III.

On the same occasion, the Head of Bogor City Social Services Agency, Anggraeny Iswara said that the Bogor City Social Services Agency continues to collect data by referring to Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) and Non-DTKS data. "We continue to collect data. In Bogor City, there are two data on recipients of social assistance, namely from the DTKS and Non DTKS. DTKS means poverty data in Bogor City and already in the Ministry of Social Affairs system. The number is 71,111 families. They have been assisted through PKH and Non-Cash Food Assistance, "said the Head of the Bogor City Social Services Agency.

Continuing his explanation, the Head of the Bogor City Social Services Agency Office emphasized that the recipients of the Cash Social Assistance were people who did not receive the basic food, PKH and provincial assistance programs. "For the first wave, assistance was distributed in Tanah Sareal District. So this assistance is outside of the regular assistance that has been provided by the central government and provincial assistance," explained the Head of the Bogor City Social Services Agency.

This cash assistance will be given to IDR 9 million KPM with cash assistance of IDR 600 thousand per KPM per month for 3 months, starting from April to June 2020 with a budget that has been prepared by the government of IDR 16.2 trillion. In addition to the launch of Cash Social Assistance with PT Pos in Bogor City, today the launch of Cash Social Assistance is simultaneously held in two other places, namely Bekasi Regency and Tangerang Regency.
