HULU SUNGAI SELATAN (December 15th 2019) - Cross Boundary Social Solidarity (LBKS) Stage III in commemoration of 2019 National Social Solidarity Day (HKSN) has been held in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. LBKS is a series of HKSN 2019 events before its peak will be held in the city of Banjarmasin on December 20th 2019.

Stage III has been held in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency after previously Stage II was held in Balangan Regency (16/12). The LBKS activity was attended directly by the Governor of South Kalimantan, the Regent of Hulu Sungai Selatan, the Director of Remote Indigenous People's Empowerment, the Director of Social Empowerment for Individuals, Families and Community Institutions, Secretary of the Directorate General for the Poverty Handling (Sesditjen PFM), and the Director for Poverty Handling Region II (Director PFM Region II).

In this activity, the Governor of South Kalimantan, H. Sahbirin Noor expressed his gratitude for the synergy of this LBKS activity. According to him, this LBKS trip was a joint effort to re-socialize, campaign and raise awareness of solidarity at all levels. "The hope is that this LBKS will leave a meaningful impression of social solidarity, which is sustainable in people's lives despite the changing times. The influence of social media sometimes separates social relations in the real world," said the Governor of South Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, whose speech was read by the Secretary of the Directorate General of PFM, Nurul Farijati, said that National Social Solidarity does not only belong to the Ministry of Social Affairs, but belongs to the entire Indonesian nation. The involvement of all components of the nation is expected. "We are not only partners, but also further than that we will synergize, complement each other, complement shortcomings, build common strength to realize social justice for all Indonesian people," said Secretary of the Directorate General of PFM.

In this Stage III activity, social assistance was given in the framework of the 2019 HKSN, some of which came from the Ministry of Social Affairs. The social assistance was handed over by the Secretary of the Directorate General of PFM in the form of disaster management assistance (logistic stock) amounting to Rp. 77,483,095, assistance for the Unfit for Living (RTLH) program for 6 houses, basic food assistance for the elderly (elderly) as many as 500 packages, as many as aids for the elderly. 343 packages of canes and wheelchairs, 18 packages of tools for disabilities in the form of wheelchairs and prosthetic legs, 450 school supplies, 100 packages of basic necessities for PKH recipients, and other social assistance sourced from the APBD and social solidarity partners provided by the Governor of South Kalimantan and the Regent of Hulu Sungai Selatan.

Secretary of the Directorate General for the Poverty Handling hopes that this social assistance can be of good use. "There are wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs, RTLH, all of which are needed by the beneficiaries," explained Secretary of the Directorate General for the Poverty Handling.
