TULUNGAGUNG (8 September 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Social Rehabilitation Center "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi conducted a needs assessment and distributed assistance for elderly Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) to Sukiran (67 years old), who lives in Bangunmulyo Village, Pakel District, Tulungagung Regency stroke in the last 2 years and caused paralysis of the legs, the ability to carry out daily activities requiring the help of others and experiencing an economic crisis. This is a follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharini, that the Technical Implementation Unit of MoSA must immediately respond to information regarding social problems that occur in the community.

 

Quick response information about the presence of elderly who need assistance, obtained from the Ministry of Social Affairs reports page and immediately followed up by the Head of "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi, Pujiyanto by assigning the Team to conduct an assessment, early identification of the problems and needs of the elderly in question on Tuesday (7/9/2021).

 

Based on the results of the assessment of the elderly, family, and local government officials, it is known that Sukiran lives with his wife and child in his son's house and has not been recorded in the Social Welfare Integrated Data (DTKS) from the government. Government assistance was once obtained on behalf of his wife through the Cash Social Assistance (BST) program and received the assistance last April 2021. Physical condition that is no longer able to work and relies on his son who is also experiencing the economic crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic to help meet his daily basic needs, such as eating and diapers.

 

Following up on the results of the assessment, "Budhi Dharma" Center today coordinated directly with the Tulungagung District Social Service and local government officials regarding the Sukiran DTKS proposal to obtain a DTKS ID, enter the SIKS NG data online and at the same time distribute ATENSI service in the form of elderly nutrition packages kit (calcium milk for the elderly, honey, biscuits, sardines), personal care needs (diapers, bath soap, laundry soap, shampoo, toothbrush) and clothes to Sukiran at his home. The distribution of ATENSI service from the “Budhi Dharma” Center was accompanied by the Tulungagung District Social Service, TKSK, village officials, and the local RT.

 

The nurse, Iis Prihastuti conveyed the motivation and enthusiasm to Sukiran to live his life with gratitude. "Sir, don't forget to sunbathe every day, exercise to move your joints yourself, keep praying even if you lie down. Don't forget to always take good care of yourself and be patient. Take advantage of the free BPJS PBI card to control Pak Sukiran's health", said Iis while practicing simple post-stroke therapy movements.

"Thank you for the attention of the Ministry of Social Affairs for helping me and my family, I hope there will be regular assistance so as not to bother the children," said Sukiran.

The quick response to handling the elderly by "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi is proof of the presence of the Ministry of Social Affairs to protect the rights of the elderly.
