MANADO (1 October 2021) - The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini accompanied by the Secretary General, Harry Hikmat, provided Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) support for a total of IDR 635,935,500 for vulnerable residents in Manado City, North Sulawesi. The handover took place at the Manado "Tumou Tou" Social Rehabilitation Center.

 

ATENSI support consists of assistance for 50 orphans, fatherless and motherless in the amount of Rp. 12,200,000,-, accessibility assistance for 57 beneficiaries in the amount of Rp. 110,770,000,-, assistance for basic needs for 110 beneficiaries in the amount of Rp. 109,215,500, assistance for basic needs for 50 orphans with a total amount of Rp. 15.000.000,- and entrepreneurship assistance of Rp. 388.750.000,-.

 

This ATENSI support is given to beneficiaries in several areas, namely in Bolaang Mongondow Regency, Minahasa Regency, South Minahasa Regency, North Minahasa Regency, Bitung City, Kotamobagu City, Manado City and Tomohon City.

 

"We assisted beneficiaries that we have assessed. There are people with disabilities, orphans, there are also Beneficiary Families who have graduated because they are independent," said Social Minister Risma.

 

Social Minister Risma also always gives motivation to orphans, whose parents died due to Covid-19. Social Minister Risma continues to build self-confidence so that they do not give up in life.

 

Marcel (17 years old) One of the beneficiaries expressed his pleasure to meet the Minister of Social Affairs. "I am happy to be invited here, to meet the Minister of Social Affairs, I feel cared for," he said.

 

After his father died on August 17, 2021, due to exposure to Covid-19, Marcel always remembers his father's message that you must always do good. He also dreams of becoming an architect so that his father is proud of him.

 

Another beneficiary, Roy (44 years old) received entrepreneurship assistance in the form of a business selling cold drinks. At first, he was selling around in the center of Manado City sometimes selling tissue, peanuts, or cassava chips.

 

"I hope that with this assistance my income will increase and can improve my family's economy. Because initially by selling around I only got Rp. 50 thousand a day, and even then with a lot of risks because of my blind condition," he said.

This assistance is managed by the Social Rehabilitation Centers, namely the "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Surakarta, "Gau Mabaji" Gowa, "Nipotowe" Palu, "Toddopuli" Makassar, "Tumou Tou" Manado, "Wasana Bahagia" Ternate, "Wirajaya" Makassar, "Pangurangi" Takalar, "Meohai' Kendari and "Minaula" Kendari.

This activity was attended by the Special Staff to the Minister of Social Affairs, Echelon I and II Officials within the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Regional Government of North Sulawesi Province, and Representatives of State-owned Bank Association.
