SURABAYA (August 6, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Surakarta "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Social Rehabilitation Center responded to the problem of the need for Social Welfare Services Recipient (PPKS) in Surabaya. This follows up on a letter from Sunarti's mother regarding a request for assistance for dialysis treatment.

"Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Center sent a team to conduct an assessment related to this problem. With the help of the Surabaya TKSK coordinator and the Krembangan District TKSK, the team consisting of Social Workers, Administration of the Social Identification and Assessment Section and this Instructor managed to coordinate with the Dupak Village Head.

From this coordination, it is known that an initial assessment has been carried out by a local government team consisting of the Dupak Village Head, Lutfan Adie Wibowo, Head of People’s Welfare Section, Emy Juliarti and Head of Village Welfare Section, Siti Jauharoh with the results, Mrs. Sunarti (the PPKS concerned) needs to be registered in the DTKS so that she has the opportunity to get assistance programs from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Sunarti's mother, who is only a housewife in her daily life, lives with her husband and two children. Her husband works as an online motorcycle taxi, while one child works in a factory, and the other opens a beverage stall.

The team from the "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Center accompanied by Emy and Siti visited Ms. Sunarti's house to conduct a follow-up assessment as well as a case discussion. The result of the follow-up assessment is to strengthen the results of the initial assessment regarding the need for Ms. Sunarti's registration at DTKS and the need for a wheelchair to be used for mobility at home and the hospital during dialysis.

Mrs. Sunarti's husband, Agus Prastowo said, "Every time we go to the hospital for dialysis, it's always crowded and I never get a wheelchair loan from the hospital. Even though my leg is swollen. That's why we said that we needed a wheelchair", said Agus.

Assessing the needs that are quite important and the PPKS living environment has sufficient access, according to the direction of the Head of the Surakarta "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Center, Juena Br. Sitepu, the officer handed over 1 (one) unit of a wheelchair. As for the DTKS problem, the local government has intervened.
