JAKARTA
(October 29, 2021) - Following up on the direction of the Minister
of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, to carry out outreach to the community of
scavengers, buskers, silver people, and others. For this reason, an assessment
has been carried out on the Punk community under the Tebet station bridge, South
Jakarta.
The Ministry
of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center "Mulya Jaya"
Jakarta mobilized a team to investigate the case response to 3 people from the
punk community. The three people are buskers, parking attendants, and tattoo
artists.
This assessment
is a follow-up to past outreach, some wanted to get services at Mulya Jaya but
they decided to stay in the community by starting a business and others wanted
to revive a business that had gone bankrupt.
Then some of
the others were still thinking. They have been offered to sell at SKA but still
want to sell outside because they see a good opportunity and they can still
interact with other friends. Because even though they are in difficult life
circumstances they have a strong concern, by setting aside income to help each
other.
When
assessed by Social Workers, Sri Mulyani 2 (two) of them were husband and wife
as buskers. The income from busking is around 10 thousand to 50 thousand per
day and it is only sufficient for daily life, even during this pandemic they
are increasingly difficult to earn, sometimes not at all.
They hope
that the Ministry of Social Affairs will be given assistance, namely having a
coffee shop business for Putri and her husband and health assistance for Putri
to give up her spiral family planning because she wants to get pregnant, for
her second marriage, she does not have children. Likewise, Sapta wants to
continue his fried rice business to get a better income for his family.
