Rehabilitation Center Phala Martha Sukabumi moved quickly to respond to
information about the elderly Sukabumi who moved to a shop after the house was
demolished by Satpol PP.
Following up
on the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs so that the Center can do
outreach for the homeless who live under bridges, carts and other wild
places, Cup Santo as the Head of the Phala Marth assigned Social Workers Umar

The elderly
with the initials SM (61 years old) is one of the residents who own a coffee
shop and retail gasoline who was affected by the Control Operation in the form
of demolition of illegal buildings without permission by the Sukabumi Regency
Satpol PP on October 27, 2021, following Warning Letter III dated
October 19, 2021.
“SM” and his
wife currently live alone and have opened a coffee and petrol shop just across
the road from their former kiosk which was demolished in Kampung Gunung Sumping
RT.002 RW.016, Citepus Village, Palabuhanratu Sukabumi. The land was
temporarily lent by Ibu Eni, one of the neighbors who couldn't bear to sleep
alone on the terrace of her empty kiosk.
"SM"
at length told his life journey to Social Workers. “My parents are from
Banyumas Regency and before going to Sukabumi in 2012, we lived in West
Kalimantan for 12 years. At that time in West Kalimantan, we were blessed with
two daughters,” said SM.
Initially, in
Sukabumi we lived and traded in Ciemas Sukabumi, there we already had a house
but it was sold 7 years ago for trading capital. Then we moved to
Palabuhanratu, but until now we have not been able to buy land and houses
anymore. At this time we are concentrating on paying for the tuition of our
second daughter (youngest) who is currently studying and living in Sukabumi
City.
Umar
Khaerudin as a social worker said that on behalf of the Ministry of Social
Affairs, we are also concerned and empathetic to the problems that are being
faced by the "SM" family. "Hopefully Mr. SM and his family
remain patient and try to face life's problems," said Umar.
