JAKARTA (3 May 2020) - The
Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P Batubara, has instructed his staff to
continue to monitor the process of distribution of social assistance to COVID-19
affected communities.
Social Minister wants to
ensure the distribution of social assistance on target, especially for the poor
and vulnerable. "Priority distribution of aid must run quickly and
precisely, based on data submitted by the region," he said in an official
statement.
The Head of the Social
Education and Counseling Education Agency (BP3S) Syahabuddin was also tasked
with directly observing the process of distributing basic food assistance
(social assistance) in the Manggarai area, Kec. Tebet, Jakarta Selatan City,
Special Capital Region of Jakarta.
"I got an assignment
from the Minister of Social Affairs to directly observe the distribution of the
president's basic food aid in the Manggarai Region. I am here to ensure that
the distribution of food assistance from the President in this place goes fast
and on target," said the Head of BP3S. Sunday, 3/5/2020
The Basic Food Social Assistance from the President began to be distributed to affected
communities COVID-19 in DKI Jakarta, Bogor Regency, Tangerang City and South
Tangerang, Depok and Bekasi (Jabodetabek), starting from April 20th. The
Sembako Bansos reach 1.9 million families with a value of Rp. 600,000
distributed twice a month.
At present the distribution
of Social Aid also cooperates with PT Pos Indonesia, which is supported by TNI
personnel and assisted by RW and RT Heads in the local area, to the basic food
aid units to beneficiary families," explained the Head of BP3S
"I think Mr. RT and Mr.
RW know better than us how the condition of its citizens. Therefore, the
involvement of RT / RW, kelurahan, sub-district to the provincial government
must be done so that the assistance distributed is truly on target," he
added
On this day, Social Aid
distributed in Manggarai District, Kec. Tebet RW 10 totals 297 packages of
basic food aid distributed throughout 11 RTs.
On the same occasion, the
head of RW 10 of Manggarai Urban Village said that in his area there were
people who had received assistance from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government,
but also received more Social Assistance from the President,
while there were still residents who had not yet received assistance.
"As stated by the
Minister of Social Affairs. If there are people who have received assistance,
but it turns out that they have already received assistance, for example from
the DKI Provincial Government, it is better to provide this basic food aid to
neighbors who have not yet received," Syahabuddin answered
The Head of BP3S hopes that
the various steps undertaken by the Ministry of Social Affairs will facilitate the
efforts of regional heads to help communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
