LUMAJANG (March 19, 2022) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Mahatmiya
Center Bali assisted Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI)
in the amount of 1,350 packages to flood victims in Lumajang and Jember
Regencies. Assistance per package worth Rp. 300,000 with a total of Rp.
405,000,000. Floods occurred after heavy rains flushed Lumajang on Monday
(14/3/2022). As a result, some rivers are unable to accommodate the
water discharge until it overflows into residential areas.
In addition to submerging hundreds of residents'
houses, this flood also submerged hundreds of hectares of agricultural land in
the village.
Based on a request from a member of the House of
Representatives Commission VIII, Umar Bashor to distribute basic food social
assistance to flood-affected communities due to paralyzed community activities.
In response to the request, the Head of the Mahatmiya Bali Center Sri Wibowo
instructed the Coordinator and the Outreach Team (TRC) to go directly to the
field with the Expert Team of Commission VIII DPR RI, Anasrul. Based on the
results of the field assessment, the team decided to distribute necessities at several points to speed up distribution. The
distribution of aid was also assisted by volunteers and local village
officials.
The basic food assistance in Lumajang Regency is
1,050 packages based on data from Member of the House of Representatives
Commission VIII, Umar Bashor, the Social Office of Lumajang Regency, and
Rowokangkung District with details of flood-affected families including,
Rowokangkung Village 485 family heads (KK), Sidorejo Village 463 KK, and Kutarenon
Village 102 KK.
Meanwhile, for Jember Regency, 300 packages were
distributed to flood-affected residents in the village of Sumberagung 150
families, Rowo Tengah 95 families, and Sarimulyo Village 55 families.
In addition to basic food social assistance, 303
packages of logistical assistance in the form of children's food were
distributed, with details for Lumajang Regency as many as 203 packages, while
for Jember Regency there were 100 packages.
