MAJALENGKA (August 18, 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center "Mulya Jaya" in Jakarta
continues to respond to cases for Social Welfare Service Recipient (PPKS). The
response to this case was carried out based on reports that came directly from
the community regarding the existence of socio-economic vulnerable women in the
Majalengka Regency area. This is following the direction of the
Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini so that all centers can respond
quickly to problems and needs of PPKS.
Precisely in Lojikobong
Village, Sumberjaya District, a family is consisting of a mother named
Miga and 4 children occupy a house measuring about 3x4 meters with an old
tiled roof and the walls of a brick house that have partially collapsed. The
house does not belong to her but belongs to the Head of RT, who feels sorry
for her and allows her to live in temporarily until Miga has his
own house.
When she visited, the
house she lived in contained only one cooking utensil, there is no table or cupboard, as
well as an old bed and clothes scattered on the ground. Miga occupies the house
with her children aged 11, 6, 5, and 3 years.
Meanwhile, her husband
does not live with them because he has 3 wives. Her husband only occasionally
came and gave some money of 25 thousand rupiahs but it was uncertain. Miga's condition
of not having a job makes her only rely on the mercy of neighbors who give her
food.
With their daily needs not
being met, this also affects the physical condition of the four Miga children
who grew up with poor nutrition, one child has a skin disease due to improper
and dirty clothes.
According to the Social Work Service Unit (Sakti
Peksos) of Majalengka Regency, Yati Rosmiati, Miga's first child is currently
in grade 5 of elementary school and grade 1 of elementary school. So far, the
family has never received social assistance such as the Family Hope Program
(PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), Smart Indonesia Card, or Healthy
Indonesia Card (KIS). Yati has coordinated to be able to apply for Miga to be
included in the PKH recipient but is currently still waiting for the data
updating process.
Based on the results of the assessment that was
carried out on August 7, Miga needs to meet the needs of a decent living in the
form of basic needs that cannot be postponed due to the condition of starving
children and assistance to open a small shop business at home to be able to
meet their daily needs.
Miga wants to sell snacks because her house is close
to schools and crowded with children. In addition, she also has arrears in the
cost of buying land of 2 million rupiahs for an area of 56 square meters
which she previously paid in installments of a total of 5 million rupiahs and is
allowed to build a house if she has paid off the arrears. Meanwhile, building
materials are available from non-governmental organizations.
Based on the results of the assessment and home visit,
today (18/8) Balai "Mulya Jaya" provides family-based ATENSI
assistance to Miga according to their needs. Details of the needs provided with total assistance of Rp. 11.2 million in the form of equipment and materials
selling food, mattresses, carpets, children's food needs, children's clothing
needs, toiletries, carts for trading, and 2 million in money to pay off the
land.
The Head of the Center, Ai Herliyah, who immediately
gave symbolic assistance to Miga, said that this was a form of responsibility
of the Ministry of Social Affairs in responding quickly to problems and needs
of PPKS. Ai hopes that this assistance can help Miga become economically
empowered so that they can live a decent life with their four children.
"We provide this assistance from the Ministry of
Social Affairs through the "Mulya Jaya" Center for Miga and his
children. So from now on Miga can open a business, all his needs have been
completed. From now on trying to live independently, not relying on the mercy
of neighbors. Hopefully, the assistance that has been given can be put to good
use," said Ai.
Miga is very grateful for the help she has received
and thanks for such great care to herself and her family.
"I thank you very much ma'am for all the help.
This is all very useful for me and the children. Hopefully, my business will run
smoothly in the future," said Miga.
The event was also attended by the Head of the Social
Rehabilitation Division of the Majalengka Regency Social Service, Euis
Kusnawati and his staff, the Secretary of the Sumberjaya District, Abdul Jaya,
the Head of Loji Kobong Village, Eman, and the Head of the Block Jumat Hamlet,
