MoSA Distributes ATENSI Support for 46 Children with Disabilities
JAKARTA (25 September 2021) - The Ministry of
Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center “Melati” Jakarta
distributed assistance for Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) to 46
Beneficiaries (PM) of the Social Rehabilitation Service Unit for Children with
Disabilities (ULRS APD) of “Melati” Jakarta.
The handover of aid was carried out directly by
the Head of Melati Center, Romal Uli Jaya Sinaga on Friday (24/9).
PMs who receive ATENSI support are children
with disabilities from various disabilities, both physical, sensory, mental,
intellectual, and multiple.
Previously, a needs assessment had been
carried out by ULRS APD officers to 46 PMs to determine the right
recommendations in determining ATENSI support so that the crisis experienced by
each PM could be overcome by optimizing the available resources.
In his speech, Romal said that the ATENSI support
distributed by "Melati" Center was a form of government attention, in
this case to children with disabilities.
“Hopefully the ATENSI support provided is following the needs and can be useful for children. We hope that the
ATENSI support that we are currently providing can be optimized to support the
efforts of nurturing and caring for children so that their growth and
development can run well. Furthermore, we will continue to carry out integrated
monitoring and evaluation as a supporting system for families,” said Romal.
The majority of ATENSI support provided was in
the form of accessibility support in the form of therapeutic tools/media for
children with disabilities that were easy to use at home. This is because of the unfinished situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and children with
disabilities being one of the vulnerable groups exposed to Covid-19. By doing
independent therapy at home, children become safer and can still be stimulated
in their development.
In addition to therapeutic tools, nutrition
and medicine are also given to PM to support the body's immunity for children
with disabilities.
There is ATENSI support for families in the form
of parental entrepreneurship assistance. This assistance is provided to support independent family-owned businesses so that they can be
optimized to improve the welfare of the families of children with disabilities.
