MAGELANG (August 3, 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center “Antasena” distributed family-based ATENSI service in the form of fulfilling necessities for a neglected elderly named Mbah Surip at her home in Dusun Kalangan Rt. 001 Rw. 005 Sidomulyo Village, Salaman District, Magelang Regency. ATENSI service is provided in the form of a cotton mattress, rice, cereal milk, sugar, cooking oil, and instant noodles. In addition, Mbah Surip has also made a Healthy Indonesia Card or KIS.

 

The Head of Subdivision for Administration Arif Nurhidayat representing the Head of the Antasena Center handed over the assistance to Mbah Surip and was accepted by her nephew, Yantuk. “Hopefully this assistance can relieve Mbah Surip and her relatives who have been taking care of Mbah Surip. Our officers will continue to monitor Mbah Surip's condition and if her condition requires medical attention, she will be immediately taken to the hospital because she already has a Healthy Indonesia Card," said Arif.

 

The handover of assistance was also attended by the Social Worker Service Unit (Sakti Peksos)/Social Rehabilitation Assistant for Magelang Regency, Iin Purnama Sari who has been monitoring the development of Mbah Surip's condition and her relatives.

 

One of Mbah Surip's relatives, Yantuk, expressed his gratitude for the attention from the Ministry of Social Affairs, “I am very grateful for the assistance and attention are given by Antasena Center to Mbah Surip. Mbah Surip is no longer able to carry out activities if she is not assisted. We are trying our best to take care of Mbah, but we have economic limitations,” said Yantuk.

 

Mbah Surip is a 75-year-old widow who has no children. Since 2015 she has suffered a stroke and her condition continues to decline. Currently, Mbah Surip's eyesight is no longer able see due to cataracts and the soles of her feet hurt when she walks. For daily self-care and food needs, Mbah Surip is cared for by her nephew.
