INDRAMAYU (04
February 2022) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social
Rehabilitation Center “Kahuripan” Sukabumi carried out an emergency response to
reports of ODGJ with the initials T caring for their two children in Terisi
District, Indramayu Regency.
T has had a
mental breakdown since 2002 and it got worse after he came back from working in
Saudi Arabia. The local health center had checked and given medicine for T, but
the treatment was interrupted when T refused to take the medicine and started
to get angry often.
T lives with
his two children. To fulfill his daily food needs, T gets help from his
extended family and neighbors around his house. T always takes his two children
wherever he goes, such as wandering the streets, markets, or near train tracks.
Head of Kahuripan
Sukabumi, Vivi Marlina gave directions for the case response team to
immediately provide treatment and assistance to T and his two children.
The case
response team immediately coordinated with the local government such as the Social
Office of Indramayu Regency, Health Center of Terisi District, and social companions
to bring T to the General Hospital of Indramayu Regency and accompanied him to get
further medical treatment.
Kahuripan
Sukabumi also provided Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) support in the
form of nutrition and personal hygiene equipment to T and his family.
