JAKARTA (August 23, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center "Panasea" Jakarta was present and followed up on the incident of the fall of a freight elevator at the Margo City Mall, Depok, West Java by providing psychosocial support services to victims and their families for two days starting from Saturday (21/08) at the time of the incident and Sunday (22/08).

 

"Panasea" Center Jakarta team consisting of the Section Head of Social Services and Rehabilitation, Social Workers, Nurses and Facility Provider Officers on the night of the incident headed to Margo City Mall to provide psychosocial services to 11 victims consisting of security guards, mall employees, and visitors.

 

The next day on Sunday (22/08/2021), the team headed to Bunda Hospital in Margonda to carry out psychosocial services and assessments. The team was received by the Director of Bunda Hospital, Imelda Rachmawati and the head doctor on duty Sri Astuti. Imelda stated that eight victims were treated at Bunda Hospital, consisting of 5 Margo City Mall employees and 3 visitors.

 

Assessments were carried out on four victims, namely Jaelana (36), Nurma Yuningsih (38), Maulida Agustini (26) and Mery Anggaini (21).

 

From the results of the assessment, the victims, some of whom had burns, swelling, and bruises, were provided with psychosocial services and assistance in the form of necessities, each in the form of 20 kg of rice, instant noodles, 2 liters of cooking oil, 2 kg of sugar, 2 kg of eggs, teabags, coffee, biscuits, and milk.

 

The victims and their families who were visited at their respective homes expressed their gratitude for the attention and assistance provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

 

The follow-up plan that will be carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Panasea" Center is to facilitate victims if they need further psychosocial support services.
