BANDUNG (February 28, 2020) - The current government public relations must easily accelerate themselves with the times, public relations must be able to become a mediator between the government and the community.

"Public Relations need to work together because their role is very important, especially as a bridge of communication to the community," said Secretary of the Education and Social Counseling Education Agency (BP3S) Harapan Lumban Gaol.

As a communicator whose role is to convey messages and information to a wide audience, public relations are required to be able to provide factual and targeted information.

According to lumban gaol, government public relations in building reputation in addition to creating publications that are public, public relations also need to pay attention to target feedback.

"Continuing to synergize, synergy becomes very important for the public relations function, because policies sometimes involve several work units and even between institutions," he said in a public relations workshop in BP3S. Thursday (2/27)

Therefore, capacity building for BP3S public relations practitioners is very important. Professionalism needs to be sharpened to strengthen public relations management for programs in BP3S.

According to him, the public relations officer in the work unit needs to be given a provision for reinforcement, both in terms of knowledge, public relations capacity, as well as building the same information and perceptions.

PROSPEROUS WORSHOP

For all that, BP3S held a Training to improve the publication of the BP3S program in the digital era in Supporting Government Performance in the Badiklit Pensos Environment "in Bandung, February 26-29, 2020.

The activity was carried out to hone the capabilities of BP3S public relations officers in facing the digital era.

In this training, the committee invited a number of speakers and practitioners to increase the capacity of HR among public relations officers.

As for one of the speakers, namely the former Head of Information and Public Relations Center of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Ministry of Communication and Information) Ismail Cawidu.

In his presentation, Cawidu emphasized that government public relations institutions are required to have to master information and communication technology (ICT) in the digital era as it is today.

"The Public Relations Workshop conducted by BP3S is a concrete step in an effort to improve the quality of human resources in implementing its PR units," said cawidu

Furthermore, the lecturer in communication at the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University added that this Workshop was also a smart effort to anticipate the need for faster and more quality news in line with the increasingly advanced use of information technology.

For information, the committee also presented competent speakers in the field of public relations, among others, Wiwit Widiansyah (Head of the Public Relations Bureau) Selamat Ginting (Republika's main reporter), Rosmary sihombing (senior journalist at Media Indonesia), and Digital Marketing Practitioners from digital fighters.

Meanwhile, the training participants are structural and functional officials in the BP3S environment.
