MATARAM (September 16, 2021) - The “Paramita” Center received a visit from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture. The visit was carried out to protect Indonesian Migrant Workers who had been repatriated as Deportants from Malaysia, of which 51 people came from the Province of West Nusa Tenggara and one of them received empowerment at the Social Rehabilitation Center "Paramita" by becoming a handicraft instructor.

 

A total of 14 people attended this visit, namely the Assistant Deputy for the Fulfillment of Rights, Protection and Empowerment of Women at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, the Director for the Placement and Protection of Overseas Workers (PTKLN) of the Directorate General of Manpower Placement Development (Binapenta) and PKK of the Ministry of Manpower, Assistant Deputy for Protection of Women Rights and Trafficking in Persons, Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Coordinator of Social Rehabilitation for Victims of Trafficking in Persons, Ministry of Social Affairs, Director of Protection and Supervision for the Asian and African Regions, Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Agency (BP2MI), Head of the Manpower Office of West Nusa Tenggara Province, were also present during the visit the Head of BP2MI of West Nusa Tenggara Province.

 

In addition to visiting to carry out protection efforts for Indonesian Troubled Migrant Workers (PMIB) who have been repatriated, the guest group also visited the ATENSI Creation Center (SKA) "Paramita" which is well known to the public. The group also had the opportunity to see the innovations in Paramita.

 

The activity was carried out in the "Paramita" Center Public Service Room and started at 15:10 WITA. Ketut Supena in his speech said “It is an honor Balai Paramita Center to receive a visit from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture and their staff. It is positive energy for us to be able to demonstrate the implementation of Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) at Paramita Center, one of which we can see the work and innovations of Beneficiaries that have economic value and can compete in the market.” Supena said.

 

“Paramita Center as part of the representation of the Ministry of Social Affairs is always ready to make the best efforts for social problems that exist in the community, especially in the West Nusa Tenggara region. In addition, according to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, we are directed to respond to cases from various clusters, that is what is called multi-service," Supena added in his speech.

In addition to the meeting at SKA "Paramita", the group was accompanied directly by the Head of the Center and structural officials on an office tour to find out the activities carried out by "Paramita" Center in carrying out social rehabilitation, changing the behavior of beneficiaries and growing their economic independence through entrepreneurship centers. Supena started by visiting children's vocational therapy spots ranging from automotive, carpentry, recycling, and welding. Next, the group headed to the Mount Pengsong dormitory area to learn about mushroom cultivation.

Then, Supena also demonstrated the cultivation of tilapia and koi fish in the area behind the "Paramita" Center. Not stopping there, Supena also invited the group to go to the Bee Entrepreneurship Area (honey bee cultivation), all members of the group who were present were very enthusiastic about tasting the honey produced by the "Paramita" bee.

In addition to visiting the “Paramita” Center vocational spots, the Head of the Center also invited the group to visit the girls and baby dormitories to simply communicate with the Beneficiaries. Not a few participants in the group were moved to hear the story of PM Putri and also the chronology of the discovery of the abandoned baby with unknown parents.
