People with Disabilities in Makassar Take the 2nd Vaccine
MAKASSAR (July 29, 2021) - People with disabilities from various types of disabilities throughout Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, took part in the 2nd phase of vaccination activities at the Wirajaya Center in Makassar, Jl. A.P Pettarani Makassar.
The 2nd phase of the vaccination event is a collaboration by the Wirajaya Center, the Indonesian Movement for Disabled People for Equality (Perdik) South Sulawesi, and the Makassar City Government Program known as Makassar Recover.
Head of Wirajaya Center A. Surya Kaso appreciated the ongoing vaccination activities. "Hopefully, this activity can accelerate the mass vaccination program, which aims to establish herd immunity for residents, especially people with disabilities in the Makassar city area and its surroundings," said A.Surya Kaso.
People with disabilities seemed enthusiastic to join the second phase of vaccination activities. One of them is Hadijah, a Beneficiary (PM) at Wirajaya Center in Makassar. Coming from Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province, Hadijah joined the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program with a residential approach in the Center. She chose to learn sewing skills and revealed that she was ecstatic to participate in the 2nd phase of the vaccine activity.
“As a beneficiary, I am grateful to be able to participate in being vaccinated. Apart from being a form of compliance with government programs, we consider this vaccine to be a solution to strengthen the body's immunity," said Hadijah.
