YOGYAKARTA (October 3, 2020) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in 2020 has a target to graduate 1 million Family Beneficiaries (KPM). KPM is the Recipient of Assistance in the Family Hope Program (PKH).

This was conveyed by the Head of the Education, Research and Social Counseling Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs Syahabuddin when opening the E-learning Family Development Session (FDS)/P2K2 (Family Capacity Building Meeting) PKH Companion at the Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS) Yogyakarta (3 /11).

“PKH companions are an extension of the government's to alleviate poverty in Indonesia. The companions become soldiers for the Ministry of Social Affairs in order to fight poverty and their weapon is knowledge which will be used to broaden the minds and knowledge of KPM to improve their standard of living for the better. In the end, KPM will graduate from PKH and escape poverty," said Syahabbudin.

Furthermore, he explained that the FDS/P2K2 E-learning Training for PKH Companions is one of the Ministry of Social's efforts in increasing the competence and knowledge of PKH Companions.

BBPPKS Yogyakarta as a Technical Implementation Unit under the Education, Research and Social Counseling Agency of the Ministry of Social Affairs becomes an institution that educates and trains social welfare human resources including PKH companions.

BBPPKS Yogyakarta has a working area of ​​Central Java, East Java, DIY, Bali, East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. The implementation of the 10th FDS/P2K2 E-learning Training is held online from November 3-13, 2020.

The training participants were 420 participants from East Java, NTT, NTB, and Bali. Participants were divided into 14 classes and each class was led by a facilitator who was a Widyaiswara BBPPKS Yogyakarta. For 10 days participants will receive material on Child Care and Education, Family Financial Management, Health and Nutrition, Child Protection, Disabilities and the Elderly.

On this occasion, Syahabbudin also conveyed the message of the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari Batubara to all PKH human resources, namely, first, keep Pancasila and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia as fixed prices. Second, never hold a KKS KPM. Third, if there is labeling at the KPM house in the form of a house for the poor, please change it to a beneficiary or underprivileged group, so that the children won't feel let down.

“Fourth, those who will be affiliated or run for office or become a political team, please leave PKH HR. Keep the good name of the Ministry of Social Affairs," he said.

Furthermore, after attending the training, the PKH companions are required to convey these materials to the KPM. This is where the role of the PKH companion is to convey various FDS information with the culture of the local community.
