BANDUNG (June 5, 2023) - Responding to the dynamics of development and variations in social problems, in-depth analysis and study is needed to solve and resolve these social problems. A complete study is needed both scientifically and empirically.

The Ministry of Social Affairs is entrusted with the constitutional task of addressing and resolving 26 social problems that fall into the categories of neglect, disability, disability, backward poverty, and disaster.

As conveyed and always carried out by the Minister of Social Affairs, in terms of main tasks and functions, we must be proactive, see, hear, and resolve various social problems and lead to a society that is empowered and socially resilient.

This is the strength of Social Welfare Polytechnic (Poltekesos) as an official higher education institution belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs, taking action to respond to the situation and also fulfilling the wishes of the Minister of Social Affairs. Poltekesos is a higher education institution that becomes a benchmark for other tertiary institutions in interpreting and embodying social welfare in the context of a scientific approach and the context of application in the field. This platform is important because social welfare is not just talking about poverty or disability, but talking about protection, empowerment, and social security.

As said by the Head of the Poltekesos Social Work Education Program, Aep Rusmana; teaching materials are tools needed to assist lecturers/instructors in carrying out learning activities and the possibility of students to learn.

Teaching materials compiled or developed in tertiary institutions can be obtained from the results of community service, referring to Permendikbud number 3 of 2020 article 37 (2)) and can be used to compile criteria and procedures for research assessment (Permendikbud number 3 of 2020 article 53 paragraph 3).

It is important to interpret this ministerial regulation so that de jure and de facto it will lead to national standards of higher education; planned, measurable, visible, actionable, and accountable.

Teaching materials that will be overhauled or dissected will be seen from the suitability of the material, the composition of learning in class, the composition of learning in the field, and practicum. This is done to answer the challenges of the dynamics of learning in tertiary institutions and will become a platform for other institutions and also for other universities in recording, analyzing, and carrying out efforts to solve social problems which of course have different characteristics.

"In dissecting this teaching material, several resource persons who are experts in curriculum management are presented. Besides that, the practice of making teaching materials by a team of lecturers has been studied from the results of research on the phenomenon of social problems that are happening at this time," concluded Admiral Nelson, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of Poltekesos.
