BEKASI (July 29, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs has extended public kitchen services for three Social Rehabilitation Centers in Bekasi until Monday (2/7). The Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, which consists of the "Budhi Dharma" Elderly Center, "Tan Miyat" Center for Persons with Visual Sensory Disabilities and the "Pangudi Luhur" Training Center, has prepared ready-to-eat food support for nutritional needs during the policy of Enforcement of Restrictions on Public Activities (PPKM) is underway.

Previously, the public kitchen in the backyard of Aneka Bhakti Building (GAB) on Jl. HM. Djojo Martono Number 19 Margahayu Bekasi Timur, Bekasi City, operates for 6 days from 23 - 28 July. The extension of the public kitchen service time is adjusted to the extension of the PPKM period in Bekasi, held from 29 July - 3 August.

Today, Thursday (29/07) the public kitchen prepared a total of 1800 rice boxes with a menu of white rice, meat stews, boiled eggs, capcay, citrus fruits, and mineral water. This boxed rice was distributed to health workers at the Puskesmas and Hospitals, Funeral Officers, and self-isolating communities in Bekasi.

16 Disaster Preparedness Cadets (TAGANA) teams from three Centers worked for hand in hand to prepare boxed rice packages deftly. The process of cooking to packaging starts at 6 am and finishes at 9 am. The task of the cooking team was continued by the distribution team in charge of distributing boxed rice to 17 points in Bekasi.

The process of preparing the rice box and slicing some vegetables was prepared the night before so that the boxed rice arrived at the recipient on time at lunchtime.

The spirit of sharing carried out by the team from the three Social Rehabilitation Centers is a form of the state's presence in protecting Indonesian citizens during this Covid-19 Pandemic.
